Retreats & Special Programs

Maho and Concordia host several retreats each year.  Several yoga groups make Maho or Concordia a yearly destination. New in 2008, Estate Concordia added a conference center and café to its majestic setting on the cliffs overlooking totally unobstructed views of the ocean.

We look forward to welcoming retreats at both our eco-resorts offering guests ocean views and breezes while participating in yoga groups, hiking clubs, or various workshops.

Sustainable Design and Construction

The Department of Construction Management at Colorado State University is once again offering the Sustainable Design and Construction course taught by Brian Dunbar. Please help any students, friends or colleagues interested in green building learn about our unique 3 credit course offered May 18-28 on St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands. Students and young professionals from architecture, construction, interior design, engineering, and other built environment disciplines have gained career-enhancing knowledge and inspiration from this 11 day class, held at the award-winning Maho Bay Eco-Camp for the past 10 years. For more information click on http://www.cm.cahs.colostate.edu/students/professional/studyabroad.aspx.

Many yoga groups are making Maho Bay Camps a yearly destination. At the top of a hill, with breathtaking views of the Caribbean, a 325 square foot open-air pavilion is used for yoga practice.

Throughout the year individual guests can enjoy yoga classes at Maho and Concordia.   Suki, Maho's own yoga instructor gives morning classes five days a week every week ($15 Contribution / Class).   And Laurie Walden offers daily classes at the new Concordia Pavillion overlooking ocean views and mountain cliffs.

Paul Spector Yoga

The former Director of the Integrative Yoga Teacher Training, Paul Spector is offering three eight-day yoga and meditation retreats at Maho Bay this season: January 14-22, January 21-29, and February 25- March 4.

Paul synthesizes over thirty-five years of study into his own unique style of teaching. Some of his most influential mentors include John Stirk, Amit Desai, Rodney Yee, Doug Keller, Deb Neubauer, Ram Das, Pema Chodron, and John Friend.

Paul creates a safe yet challenging environment that increases one's presence in the here and now. This focus on present-awareness, the power of NOW, leaves the practitioner with a greater capacity for acceptance of what is, and therefore greater power to effectively interact with one's circumstance to change one's world in a useful, positive way.
