St. John has no airport, so if you fly to the Virgin Islands you will land at the airport on St.Thomas. A taxi or shuttle will take you to Red Hook where you'll catch the ferry for a pleasant 20 minutes ride to Cruz Bay on St. John. Ferries leave every hour on the hour from 7:00 AM to midnight 7 days a week, every day of the year. No ferry leaving St. Thomas at 9pm and 10pm during low season. Frett's taxi-shuttle makes seven trips every day from Cruz Bay to Maho Bay Camps and Harmony Studios through luxurious tropical landscapes in the USVI National Park. Frett's last trip meets the 9:00 PM ferry from Red Hook. If you are going to Estate Concordia or the Concordia Eco-tents you will probably want to rent a car in Cruz Bay.
The nonstop, flight to St. Thomas from New York or Baltimore takes about 3½ hours. From Atlanta it's about 3 hours, and from Miami about 2½ hours. The US Virgin Islands are in the Atlantic time zone, one hour earlier than Eastern Standard Time. During Daylight Savings Time the Virgin Islands and the East Coast are on the same time. If you fly to San Juan, Puerto Rico and take a "commuter" airline to St.Thomas, a short flight of about 25 minutes. Cape Air is one carrier that often has less expensive fares.

Although the Virgin Islands are a US territory, flights from St. Thomas to Puerto Rico or to the US mainland require proof of citizenship which are:
1. A passport issued under competent authority.
2. A certified copy of your birth certificate along with a government issued photo identification (US and Canadians only).
3. A Certificate of Naturalization issued by the US Immigration and Naturalization Service.
